North Carolina State:Pack Pride is reporting that Arkansas head strength coach Jason Verkamp has accepted the same position at NC State.

St. Leo University: Saint Leo University, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Sunshine State Conference, is currently accepting internship applications for the Spring 2013 semester. During the internship there will be assignments assigned to allow interns the opportunity to better their coaching abilities. Examples include but are not limited to; writing a year-round training program(s), facility design, budgeting, staffing and a mock NSCA test. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain a journal and develop strength and conditioning portfolio while being responsible for one or more sports team TBD by your comprehension, prior experience, knowledge, and skill level. Qualifications: Junior or Senior, working towards completion of a Bachelor’s degree, as well as working toward a certification with CSCCA or NSCA. Prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. Compensation: This is an UNPAID internship but free apparel will be provided to the student during participation. A liability form must be signed before participation stating the university will not be held responsible for any injuries that may occur during the internship.. Interns will gain valuable experience and knowledge in building and running a Strength and Conditioning program and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. The ability to earn class credit towards graduation requirements is also available. Deadline: Inquiries must be received by December 30, 2012 for the Spring 2013 semester.
