Florida International: The Florida International University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach position. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Panther football program. The successful candidate will also be assigned sport teams to be determined by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. A Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field is required. Applicants must be accepted into a Graduate Program at Florida International University. Experience in a collegiate athletic setting and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level is required. Certifications in one or all of the following: CSCS, SCCC, USAW is preferred, but not required. Compensation will be a stipend of $4,500 per semester, including tuition waiver (up to 9 credits per semester, 6 credits in summer). This position will start during Summer 2016 semester and will be open until filled. Inquiries must be received by: March 1st for the summer semester. Salisbury (D-III): The Salisbury University Sports Performance Program is currently accepting applications for 2 Graduate Assistant positions beginning in the Fall of 2016. The graduate assistant positions will begin August 8th and continue through May 13th 2017 with the option for yearly renewal until graduation. This position includes tuition remission along with a $4000 stipend (Books and Fees not included). JOB DESCRIPTION: Candidates will have the opportunity to coach, develop, and train elite collegiate athletes through creating and implementing both weight training and running/conditioning programs. Candidates will also gain valuable experience managing interns and volunteers along with implementing the Sports Performance strategic plan. Duties will also include recreational facility management located at the Maggs P.A.C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should possess a strong work ethic with a desire to become the best possible performance coach they can become. Passion and enthusiasm for training college athletes should be evident. Possess a strong knowledge base on training methods with previous experience in Olympics lifts. Have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field. Have been admitted into a Graduate Studies Program at Salisbury University (Preferably – Applied Health Physiology). Previous college sports performance coaching experience required. One of the positions will be directly in charge of Football, requiring previous football performance coaching experience. Currently certified or in the process of attaining a national certification: NSCA - CSCS, or CSCCa -SCCC. South Dakota School of Mines and Technology: South Dakota School of Mines and Technology is currently accepting applications for 2 UNPAID Strength and Conditioning Summer Internship positions. The dates which are somewhat flexible, are June 6th – August 5th. Selected interns will primarily work with football but could possibly assist with volleyball, basketball and soccer. Responsibilities: Interns will assist strength staff with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for football, and possibly volleyball, basketball, and soccer. In addition, they will help with facility maintenance and aide in the enforcement of weight room policies and procedures. This will be a hands on experience with responsibilities assigned based on previous experience. Qualifications: To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a career as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. Additionally, the applicant must be completing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Exercise Science or any related field. Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained their SCCC, CSCS, USAW, and CPR certifications. They must have a strong work ethic, great energy and enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and great desire to learn about the strength and conditioning profession. College credit hours will be accepted if applicable with your current institution. Tennessee State: Tennessee State University: Tennessee State University is currently accepting applications for one Part Time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Position. The position will be contracted through June 31st with and opportunity for renewal during the following fiscal year. Compensation will be a monthly stipend for $1,200. Duties will include but are not limited to; programming and implementation for teams assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning, assisting with the training of football, and weightroom organization and upkeep. Candidates must have experience coaching large groups, programming, working alongside sport coaches, a Bachelor's degree preferably in exercise science or a related field, either the CSCS or SCCC certification, and preferably the USAW certification and 2 years of experience in the collegiate strength and conditioning field.
