Luther (D-III - IA): Luther College, a private, liberal arts institution located in Decorah, Iowa, seeks applications for a nine-month assistant coaching internship in strength & conditioning. As an assistant coach the successful candidate will assist the head coach with all aspects of the strength & conditioning program, and teams as assigned. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing a sound and well-rounded program that improves all facets of athleticism; provide safe instruction, supervision and motivation to assigned sports team(s); test and evaluate the student-athletes to show improvements regards to strength, conditioning and overall fitness levels; assist in repair and maintenance for all equipment used in strength and conditioning area; coordinate rehabilitation of injured athletes with staff athletic trainers; and other duties as assigned by Head Strength Coach. Strong leadership, relevant experience, and motivational skills are required; a record of integrity and the ability to inspire student-athletes to perform at a high level is essential; and a willingness to advance the goals and mission of Luther College while adhering to the rules, policies, and regulations established by Luther College, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the NCAA is critical. Qualifications include: 1) Bachelor’s Degree required and 2) college or high school strength and conditioning coaching preferred. UConn: UConn is accepting applications for volunteer football interns for Summer 2016. This volunteer position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include assisting the football strength and conditioning staff in the supervision and training of UConn's Division I intercollegiate football program. Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following; NSCA, CSCS, CSCCA, SCCC, USAW and CPR - First Aid. Western Kentucky: Western Kentucky is looking for volunteer summer interns. This is an UNPAID position. DURATION: May 16th, 2016 - July 29th, 2016. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direction of the Associate Director for Strength and Conditioning intern will assist staff with the implementation of strength & conditioning programs for Western Kentucky Football. Interns are expected to perform a variety of tasks that include: weight room/equipment up-keep and maintenance, pre-workout set-up, post-workout clean-up, supplement provision, research to enhance personal development and field related projects.QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates need to have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, have current CPR/AED & First Aid certification and MUST be CSCCa or CSCS certified.
