Wisconsin-Whitewater (D-III): University of Wisconsin – Whitewater: Strength & Conditioning Intern/Assistant for 2014-15 Academic year (Aug. 15 – May 15). This is a paid assistantship which includes a $9,500 stipend. Duties: Assist S & C staff with all aspects of training for all varsity sports (not just football). Design workouts for specific teams as assigned by S & C Coach. Provide leadership and instruction in the athletic development of student athletes to include skill analysis, teach proper technique and adapt workouts to match each sports specific need. Provide encouragement, motivate, and give feedback to student athletes to ensure maximum development of athletic potential. Assist with outside activities as assigned by S & C Coach. Job Requirements: BS/BA in a related field. Certification from nationally recognized organization (CSCS, USAW etc.) Previous experience as a collegiate athlete or training athletes. Strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Excellent work ethic. Ability to adapt to schedule changes. CPR/First Aid certified. Desired Skills: Knowledge and experience in all areas of strength training including Olympic style lifting as well as speed, agility, plyometric, flexibility and conditioning methods. North Texas: The University of North Texas - Department of Strength and Conditioning is accepting applicants for a Strength and Conditioning Internship. UNT is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning interns for the 2014 FALL semester (8/18 – 12/ 12). Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the North Texas Strength and Conditioning coaching staff, as well as gain in-valuable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (Football and Olympic sports), and participate in the UNT Strength and Conditioning professional development & educational curriculum. Please note, this is a voluntary position, there is no monetary compensation. Applicants must be committed to developing themselves as a professional and working their way up in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. Wyoming: Wyoming is looking to hire interns in the sports performance department. Positions are open for those interested in gaining experience in the field of athletic performance enhancement. The program can be tailored to an intern’s education, experience, and future professional goals. Duties include, but not limited to, assisting staff with set up and breakdown of training sessions, supplement distribution, maintenance of facility and equipment, along with testing and training of most sports - including significant time with football. Internship Qualifications: Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelors Degree in an exercise science related field, and a strong desire to be involved in an athletic performance field. Preferred Qualifications: Certified or a strong desire to obtain certification with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW is a plus. Previous experience in leading training sessions is also a plus. Compensation: This is an unpaid position; however, the possibility exists for class credit toward graduation from current institution, athletic apparel when available, the opportunity to learn from several experienced, full time strength and conditioning coaches, and the potential to earn future recommendations.
