Western Michigan: Western Michigan Football Speed, Strength & Conditioning is now accepting applications for the Summer 2013 Strength & Conditioning Interns(2). Responsibilities will begin on in May and run through July. Responsibilities will include 1.) Assist with coaching responsibilities both on the floor and on the field 2.) Office duties. 3.) Maintenance of equipment and training facilities. 4.) Other duties as assigned by strength & conditioning staff. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and strong desire to become a College Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: proficient in Microsoft word and excel, currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s) Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. Individual will gain experience in a division I college strength & conditioning setting as well as future recommendation. College credit will be given as approved by their institution. South Alabama: The University of South Alabama Department of Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for 5 full-time intern positions for the summer semester. Application for the internship at the University of South Alabama should include a cover letter, resume, and have a bachelor’s degree or college senior at an accredited institution. Applications for the summer semester are due by April 1st and should be sent to the address listed below. This is a non-paid position but free apparel will be provided to the student during participation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting the Full-time Strength and Conditioning Coaches with the design and implementation of sport specific strength, speed, agility and quickness programs. During the internship there will be various assignments given to help enrich their experience help develop them to become a better coach. These include but are not limited to; writing a year-round training program(s), developing a training philosophy, facility design, budgeting, staffing and a mock NSCA test. Coastal Carolina: CoastalCarolinaUniversity is now accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERN. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, participation in weekly projects, and professional development throughout the internship program. Intern qualifications include: punctuality; enthusiasm; strong work ethic; strong communication skills, and the ability to volunteer a minimum of 30 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS certification; CPR certification. Interns will receive experience working for a highly competitive Division I University, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
