Akron: The University of Akron Football Strength and Conditioning program is seeking a highly motivated individual for the open Graduate Assistant Position. This position will be working directly with the University's football program. The successful candidate will be expected to not only implement the University of Akron Football Strength and Conditioning Program but handle all duties and responsibilities assigned to them by the Head Strength Coach and Conditioning Matt Gildersleeve. Responsibilites include but are not limited to; coach assigned lifting groups, demonstrate/coach proper speed/plyo/agility stations, budget/maintenance of nutrition program, weight room maintenance, body composition monitoring and all other duties assigned to them. Candidates must be CPR and CSCS or CSCCA certified. Tuition Waiver and monthly stipend included. Missouri State: Former UL-Lafayette grad assistant strength coach Jacob Miller has been named head strength coach for football at Missouri State.

East Tennessee State: ETSU is looking for two hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and be able to coach Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Summer and Fall of 2015. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. This will be a Hands on experience w/ coaching responsibilities assigned by staff 2. Assist Strength staff with the implementation of strength & conditioning programs for ETSU Football. 3. Interns are expected to perform a variety of tasks that include: a. Weight room/equipment up-keep and maintenance b. Pre-workout set-up c. Post-workout clean-up d. Monitor Correct Exercise Technique e. Data Input-Microsoft Word/Excel f. Research assignments to enhance personal development as assigned. g. Weekly Athlete Weigh-ins h. Extra Athlete Workouts i. Coach Athletes as Assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Successful candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Each candidate should have extensive knowledge of teaching and coaching strength and conditioning exercises and Speed and Agility Drills.
