Tulane: Tulane University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to work with all sports. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: designing and implementing specific strength & conditioning programs for assigned teams; supervising both individual and team workouts; maintain team and individual records; implementation, demonstration and instruction of weightlifting techniques; provide appropriate maintenance and upkeep of all equipment and the weight room; to motivate both small and large groups of student-athletes; passion for the strength and conditioning field. Required qualifications include: meeting all requirements and be admitted to the Tulane University Graduate School in addition to certification in CPR/AED and a certification from one or all of the following organizations: NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC or USAW. Previous experience designing and implementing programs, experience working with athletic teams and collegiate experience as an intern is preferred. The successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 35 hours per week with the Strength and Conditioning Department. The daily responsibilities will include: Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs; for assigned teams. Teaching student athletes proper techniques and equipment use. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. Participation in weekly projects and assignments throughout the internship program. Compensation: Division I Intercollegiate experience, earned recommendation toward further success as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, gear, and college credit towards graduation if applicable. No monetary compensation will be provided. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to certification in CPR/AED. North Texas: The University of North Texas Department of Strength and Conditioning is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches to fill internship positions available for the 2013 Spring semester (1/7 – 5/10). Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the UNT strength and conditioning coaching staff, gain in-valuable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (Football and Olympic sports), and participate in the UNT Strength and Conditioning professional development & educational curriculum (course credit if applicable). Kennesaw State: Kennesaw State University seeks applicants for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern/Volunteer for the Spr’13 semester and/or Sum ‘13. This internship will provide an intensive, hands-on approach to the principles and methods of strength & conditioning covered in the Kennesaw State Advantage Program. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will assist in organizing, implementing of the Kennesaw State Advantage Program. This includes but is not limited to the areas of movement assessment, exercise technique progression, dynamic warm-up, speed & movement training, strength training, soft tissue/flexibility, and performance testing for all student-athletes. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, First Aid and CPR certified. Certified or working toward the CSCS, SCCC or USAW certification and Division I coaching experience.
