UMass: The University of Massachusetts Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking for motivated individuals who are interested in Spring volunteer internship positions. A background in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology or related field is preferred but not required. Applicants should also be in pursuit of obtaining a CSCS, USAW, or SCCC certification as well as being CPR certified. Individuals who apply should be highly motivated, have strong work ethic, be punctual, and have a strong desire to become a future strength and conditioning coach. Daily duties will consist of aiding the strength and conditioning staff with assessments of student athletes, sitting in on meetings when designing programs, implementation of programs, performing proper lifting techniques, motivating athletes, and general maintenance/cleaning of the strength and conditioning facility. Interns will receive experience working at a Division I program, better understand program design, and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Maine: University of Maine is currently seeking applicants for our Spring Semester 2014 Speed, Strength & Conditioning Internship Program. Must adhere to the rules of the NCAA, The University of Maine Intercollegiate Athletics Department, Colonial Athletic Association, America East Conference, and the Hockey East Conference. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, and/or a strong desire to become a Collegiate/Professional Speed Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s) Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. Individuals will gain experience in a Division I collegiate speed, strength & conditioning setting, as well as future recommendation for employment.
