Albright College: Albright College is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Strength & Conditioning Intern Coach. Qualifications: BS degree in Exercise Science or related field required. Certification in CPR and First Aid required. Candidates with CSCS will be given preference. Duties: Work closely with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in developing intercollegiate athletes from 23 sports to reach their full athletic potential. Other duties include: designing specific S&C programs for each sport, setting workout schedules, implementing workouts, coaching athletes on proper technique, reporting testing results and other duties as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and the Athletic Director. Compensation: This intern position includes a $3,500 annual stipend paid over a ten month contract, free off-campus housing (shared with two other coaches, each in own room), free utilities and free meal plan in campus dining hall. A tuition waiver for Masters level classes in Education is also included. No health insurance or retirement benefits are included with this position. UAB: UAB STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING INTERNSHIP. DURATION: August 13th through November 30. COMPENSATION: UAB Gear. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under administrative direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning intern will assist strength & conditioning staff in the implementation of all strength & conditioning programs at the collegiate level. Full exposure and experience in the day-to-day operation of Division I S&C program. Expected to perform a wide variety of tasks that include: Various and assorted administrative duties, Data management, Weight room and equipment, up-keep and maintenance, Workout implementation and supervision, Exercise Demonstration & Teaching Technique, Pre-workout preparation, Post-workout analysis, Assistance with warm-ups, cool-downs, performance testing and tracking, Supplement provision, Research, Projects, Adhere to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, C-USA, and the policies and procedures of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, QUALIFICATIONS: Must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or related field, Current CPR / AED and First AID Certification, Ideally will have or pursuing a USAW, CSCCa or CSCS certification, Experience as a collegiate athlete is also preferred but not required. St. Francis (NAIA - IL): The University of St. Francis is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant. Position Responsibilities: 1) Work with the head coach in each of USF's 17 varsity athletic teams to develop/oversee a strength and conditioning program which elicit safe and correct execution of exercise technique performance. 2) Plan, develop and conduct all in-season and off-season conditioning sessions. 3) Assume all administrative responsibilities related to the fitness center, including purchase and maintenance of all equipment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and acceptance into graduate program at USF. Villanova: Villanova University is currently accepting applications for volunteer strength and conditioning interns for Fall 2012. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be in or have completed a Bachelor’s degree program geared toward Exercise Physiology or a related field; Must have CPR / AED certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience competing in an intercollegiate athletics or experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning facility; nationally-accredited strength and condition certification (NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW, etc) or eligibility to sit for one. This is an unpaid position. However, volunteers will receive experience working at a Division I program, gain a better understanding of program design, undergo an in-depth curriculum design to aid in the development of future Strength and Conditioning Professionals, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if, applicable. Merrimack: Merrimack College located in North Andover, MA is accepting applications for a one year, part time position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Warriors are a member of the Division I Hockey East Conference and Division II Northeast 10 Conference, and currently sponsor 22 varsity intercollegiate sports that provide opportunities for nearly 400 student athletes. Responsibilities for the successful candidate include assisting the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in all aspects of training for 22 varsity athletic programs. Duties will include teaching student athletes proper technique, weight room supervision and maintenance, program design and implementation, and organization of the day-to-day activities of the strength and conditioning program. Job Requirements: Candidate must be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field and the desire to gain valuable experience in the field of strength and conditioning. High Point University (FCS - NC): High Point University Department of Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for Strength & Conditioning Internships for the 2012-2013 academic year. This is a 9 month, volunteer position that will begin in August 2012 and end May 2013. The candidates will be responsible for assisting the Strength & Conditioning Staff in all aspects of coaching and administration duties in a Div. I Strength & Conditioning Program. The Strength and Conditioning Intern will assist the strength and conditioning staff in implementing and supervising programs for 16 Varsity teams. Candidates must have a strong desire to be a Strength & Conditioning coach. Must have completed or are working towards completing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Must also be certified or working towards certification in CSCS, SCCC,USAW; CPR certification required. Montana: Assistant director of strength and conditioning Charlie Woida has been promoted to the director of strength and conditioning for Olympic Sports at Montana. Woida will work with all sports other than football.
