Houston: The University of Houston is currently accepting applications for a qualified and highly motivated individual looking to further develop their skills, as they relate to strength and conditioning, through a volunteer summer internship. Responsibilities will include: 1) Assisting with the development and implementation of sport specific strength & conditioning programs. 2) Organizational and office duties. 3) Daily maintenance of equipment. 3) Restocking of supplementation. 4) Other duties as assigned by strength & conditioning staff. Applicants are expected to assist in daily maintenance and upkeep of student-athlete weight room, and possess strong communication skills and work ethic. Required qualifications: completion or currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, and strong desire to become a strength & conditioning coach. Preferred qualifications: proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, completion or currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s), and previous coaching experience in a team setting.
