Purdue: Purdue University Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for TWO Sports Performance Assistant Positions, working under director Duane Carlisle. First position, experience with football, baseball and track and field throwers is strongly preferred. Second position, experience with football, wrestling, and diving is strongly preferred. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, desire to learn, be highly motivated, team-oriented, and have the ability to work early mornings. Employment will begin on June 1, 2014. Indiana: Indiana University Football Strength and Conditioning Department, is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the summer of 2014. The internship begins May 27th, 2014 and ends August 1st, 2014. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THIS POSITION. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfilment of credit hours toward a program degree based on circumstance. THIS IS NOT A COACHING POSITION. Minimum requirements: candidates should possess a strong work ethic, be highly motivated, and have the ability to work early mornings. Candidates must also have the desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. The ideal candidate should have experience as a collegiate athlete or working in a collegiate setting, bachelor’s degree (or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related field of study) and have a nationally-accredited strength and condition certification (PES, CSCS, USAW, SCCC). Daily responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: assistance in the supervision of Indiana University Football team, managing rehydration stations to optimize fluid replacement practices of athletes, as well as the set up and break down for daily strength and conditioning activities, safety spotting, routine maintenance/cleaning, organization of the training facility, and weekly research projects on various topics.
