Montana State: Montana State University is currently accepting applications for a qualified and highly motivated individual looking to further develop their skills in the field of strength and conditioning, through an UNPAID Spring 2013 internship. Expectations of the intern include the following: Provide safe and effective coaching on all lifts, movement mechanics, soft tissue and mobility/flexibility work, willingness to assist in daily maintenance and duties of the strength and conditioning facility, strong communication, leadership, integrity, self-confidence and a willingness to learn, strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, and a desire to improve one’s self for the possibility of future endeavors in the field, and willingness to work a minimum of 20 hours/week. Preferences of the candidate include the following: Pursuit of future career in strength and conditioning as demonstrated by pursuit of professional certifications (CSCS, CSCC, USAW) and/or continued pursuit of a degree in a sport science or related field, CPR/First Aid and AED certification. Benefits to the candidate include experience in strength and conditioning at a collegiate level, potential to earn a recommendation toward further pursuits in the field, further learning of proper exercise technique via staff lifts, and the ability to further professional learning and development through formal internship curriculum. Closing date of applications will be October 31, 2012. Timeline of work will be January 7 – May 17, 2013.
