Temple University: a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Mid American Conference (MAC) invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for a fall or spring semester internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Potential interns will acquire valuable experience and knowledge while being a positive asset to Temple University and the student-athletes. Upon successful completion of this internship, one should posses and demonstrate the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 24 varsity teams, weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the full time staff members. There will potentially be an opportuity to have responsibility over 1 or more sports teams TBD by your prior experience, knowledge and skill level. Qualifications: Potential interns must be self motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Candidates should have prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or background as a competitive athlete. In addition, candidates should be pursuing or just completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science or a related field as well as working towards a certification with the CSCC or NSCA. Compensation: If you are currently enrolled we will complete any necessary paperwork for intern to receive class credit towards graduation requirements. WE WILL NOT PAY FOR CREDIT AT TEMPLE UNIVERSITY OR ANY OTHER INSTITUTION. Intern will also receive valuable experience and knowledge and an earned recommendation to pursue the next step in your career. This is an UNPAID position.
