Northwestern State University: Strength and Conditioning program located in Natchitoches, Louisiana is currently in the process of accepting applications for strength and conditioning graduate assistant starting Spring 2010. Responsibilities will include assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning in all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for 14 intercollegiate athletic teams. Work with both men's and women's sports as assigned by director of strength and conditioning. Provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment usage. Supervise day-to-day activities in the strength facility. Assist with and conduct periodic performance and strength testing. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree with preferred emphasis in the exercise sciences, and extensive knowledge of Olympic lifts. The candidate must also have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Preferred experience includes coaching strength and conditioning for intercollegiate athletes, playing intercollegiate athletics. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is recommended. CSCS and USAW certification is also preferred. Position offer contingent upon admission to graduate program at Northwestern State University.
