Haverford College: located in the Philadelphia suburb of Haverford, Pennsylvania, is currently accepting applications for position of Strength and Conditioning/Fitness Center Director Intern for the 2010 Fall and Spring semesters. This position is ideal for qualified, highly motivated students pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree in the field of Exercise Science. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the performance enhancement program development and implementation for Haverford's 21 Division III intercollegiate athletic programs; developing and directing fitness programs and/or classes for Haverford's non-varsity athlete population; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and completing various educational projects which match the intern's interests. Qualifications include: strong work ethic; punctuality; enthusiasm; pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Exercise Science or related field; holding or pursuing a CSCS and USAW certification; CPR/1st Aid certification; and a desire to further one's career in the field of Strength & Conditioning or Fitness Center management. Volunteer interns will in turn receive hands-on experience working at a highly successful intercollegiate program, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
