Akron: The University of Akron has 2 strength and conditioning graduate assistant openings for Olympic sports. Must be CSCS or CSCCA certified. Tentative start date: August 2021. Responsibilities include: Creating and implementing strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams, maintaining a clean and safe facility, assisting where help is needed with other teams. West Florida: The University of West Florida is seeking two Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning coaches. The candidates must be highly motivated and have a strong desire to be a full-time strength and conditioning coach. Duties will include covering assigned Olympic sports, assisting with all aspects of the football program, weight room supervision and communication with sport coaches and sports medicine. Both GA positions include a tuition waiver towards 18 graduate hours annually and a twelve-month stipend. Candidates must already have or be working towards getting certified by either the CSCCa or the NSCA. They will also need to be admitted into the graduate school program at UWF. Previous experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting is preferred. Consideration will be given to individuals who possess strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills. Howard Payne (D-III – TX): Howard Payne University, a NCAA Division III institution in Brownwood, TX is looking for a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant to begin June 2021. Responsibilities for potential candidates will include but are not limited to: Assisting the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in the development, implementation, and supervision of sports performance programs for 12 Div. III varsity sports, instruct and coach athletes on proper training technique, maintain facilities, set up and break down training sessions, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Potential candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Candidates must also hold a Certification from one of the following organizations: NSCA – CSCS, USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, or CSCCa – SCCC. The candidate must be up to date on CPR/AED certification or obtain within 30 days of start date. NWOSU (OK): Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 1 Voluntary Strength and Conditioning Assistant Coach for SUMMER 2021. The start date is June 1st. Cheap housing is available. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for Football and all Olympic Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, and attending to the daily maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities. Candidates will have the opportunity to program, implement, and supervise strength and conditioning sessions. Volunteer Coaches will go through an educational curriculum and CSCS Prep. No monetary compensation will be provided. Certifications from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW) are preferred. CPR/AED certification is required.
