Iowa: The University of Iowa Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Fall 2017 internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The internship may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program. Opportunities to work with many performance monitoring technologies including but not limited to: Force Plates, Catapult, Omegawave, Tensiomyography and GymAware. CSCCA mentorship is available to assist your eligibility for the certification. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCA, USAW, or NSCA certification(s). Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. You will gain experience as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Southwest Minnesota State: Southwest Minnesota State University has a paid Football Strength and Conditioning position available for the summer of 2017. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design, implement, and evaluate speed, strength, and conditioning for the football program. Qualifications include: CSCS Certification required, Bachelor’s Degree required, CPR and First Aid certification required, working in a collegiate strength and conditioning environment preferred. Proven success in all areas of strength and conditioning programming, Olympic style lifts, plyometrics, speed development, conditioning, and flexibility. Position includes a $1000 stipend. Starting date is June 1st and concludes the first week in August. Does not include meals or housing. South Alabama: The University of South Alabama Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for 1 football intern this Summer . This position offers Division I experience and training and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision and training of South Alabama Division I football program; assist with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Compensation: this is a VOLUNTARY position. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Morningside College: Morningside College Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applicants for an UNPAID internship position for the summer of 2017 working with all programs. This position will have the possibility of continuing through the 2017-2018 academic year with monetary compensation. Internship responsibilities will differ and include various duties with in the Morningside College Strength and Conditioning department. Hours will vary during the summer and will include early mornings and late afternoons. Interns will gain valuable, hands on experience in areas such as program design, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete supervision. Requirements: Completed Bachelor’s degree or in process of receiving it in an Exercise Science related field required and working towards a nationally accredited certification is preferred but not required. Intern applicants must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified. Completion of this internship can fulfill potential credit hours toward a program degree. Must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Previous weight room or athletic coaching experience preferred.
