Morgan State (FCS - MD):  The Strength & Conditioning staff at Morgan State University is now accepting applications for its 2018 Summer Semester Internship Program. This is an unpaid position that lasts for the duration of the summer semester. No monetary compensation or housing will be provided. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength & conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. This internship is also Mentor Approved for those individuals preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification issued by the CSCCa. Candidates interested in this position should be hardworking, passionate, and detail orientated individuals, who have the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field. They should be working toward certification as a SCCC through the CSCCa, or a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA. Responsibilities will include: Daily clean up and maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for all athletic workouts, and supervision of training sessions. Coastal Carolina: Coastal Carolina University is seeking an intern to work with its Baseball Athletic Performance. This position will work directly with both the strength coach and athletic training coordinators for baseball. This is an unpaid position. However, the applicant will receive direct HANDS ON experience with programming, implementation, daily operations of strength and conditioning/fueling routines and styles used in the weight room/kitchen, and being a part of a National Championship athletic performance team. Applicants must possess or be in pursuit of a BA/BS. Desirable characteristics of applicants include: passionate about working with athletes, very dependable, organized and hard working. Preferential consideration will be made for applicants who have experience playing baseball and/or want to be a baseball strength coach. This is a unique opportunity for interested applicants to gain working knowledge of how we implement our program to make a difference for baseball at Coastal Carolina. There will be opportunities to work with other sports, if desired. This position will begin in August, but can start as early as July to see the implementation of our Newcomer Program. We will only take one person for this position, and our last two interns received full-time positions in their desired field upon completion of the internship.
