Appalachian State: Appalachian State University is accepting applications for Summer 2017 Strength and Conditioning Internships working with specifically FOOTBALL. These are UNPAID internships.These positions will run from late-May through the end of July. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 Sun Belt Conference S&C environment. There will be opportunities to work with Olympic Sports. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, able to follow directions, possess excellent communication skills, have a desire to learn, and have an extremely strong work ethic. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, adapt to demanding schedule, and a strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach. At the end of the semester long internship volunteers will have a better understanding of program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future opportunities, and if applicable receive college credit. Villanova: Villanoca is looking to hire three paid interns (2 Olypmic and one football). Intern will work with head coaches to develop and implement sport specific strength & conditioning programs for a variety of varsity sports. Duties / responsbilities include: Assist in the Design and Implementation of Villanova University Strength and Conditioning philosophy, which includes power, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, nutrition and conditioning for all 24 Varsity sports. On field instruction of Speed, Conditioning, Plyometric, Proprioception, and Sport Specific athletic enhancement. Evaluation of the athlete and integration of speed development to the strength development program, as well as instruction and organization of all team and/or private sessions. Some modalities would include, but are not limited to: acceleration, change of direction, top-end speed, agility, plyometric development, flexibility, vertical jump training, and energy system conditioning. Minimum qualifications: A minimum of one year experience at the collegiate level, preferably Division I. Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field. CSCS, SCCC, or USAW Certification. Master's degree preferred. Compensation is $1,400 per month. Concordia St. Paul (D-II - MN): Concordia St. Paul University (MN – DII) is accepting applications for our 2017 summer semester strength and conditioning internship. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of all CSP Division II intercollegiate athletic programs, daily session set up and weight room cleaning, facilitation of PlayerTek GPS and MyVert technologies, data entry/organization, and professional development throughout internship program. Qualifications include a strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to further one's career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications; CPR/AED certification and previous coaching experience. This is an unpaid position, however, selected applicants will receive experience working with a wide variety of college athletes, better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
