LSU: Louisiana State University is currently accepting applications for 4 Spring 2018 volunteer internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as other sports. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Spring program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Warner: The Warner University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of restricted earning Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a temporary part-time (10 month appointment) position with the opportunity to renew. The intended start date is August 10, 2017. The position is subject to a university background check. Responsibilities: Assisting in all aspects of the daily operation of the Warner University Strength and Conditioning department, as well as working with 4 teams as assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field from an accredited university, CSCS or SCCC certification, 1-2 years strength and conditioning experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with Football and track and field. Candidate must be passionate and enthusiastic about the field of strength and conditioning. Position is a top assistant position focusing on football. Preferred Requirements: A master’s degree in a related field, successful completion of internships and a graduate assistantship. CPR/AED and First Aid certified. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of Olympic lifts and drills; demonstrated ability to manage and supervise team training sessions and assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the strength and conditioning facilities. Elon: Elon University Strength and Conditioning is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Fall of 2017. The internship will begin August 29th, 2017 and run through December 2017. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Elon University’s 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties. This is an unpaid internship. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or have previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Having a background in performing and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred.
