Notre Dame: The University of Notre Dame (www.nd.edu) Department of Athletics is accepting applications for on-call football interns to begin Summer 2020. This position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. It also provides the opportunity to gain exposure on a national NCAA Division I team, while increasing marketability to a future employer. Responsibilities will include: Assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision of Notre Dame’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern University is seeking to fill one Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning position that will begin mid – May of 2020. The position will directly work with teams as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning, Donald Day. Responsibilities include: Design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams, communication with sport coaches and athletic trainers, weight room supervision, restocking nutrition supplementation, set up and breakdown of workouts and other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. The graduate assistant will have the ability to gain experience with technologies such as Stat Sport and Tendo Unit. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to complete the CSCCa mentorship program and be eligible to sit for the SCCC certification. All candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or other health related field. Applicants must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified, and must be certified through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS). Applicants should have at least a full semester of experience working in a collegiate weight room. Compensation includes a tuition waiver for graduate credit hours and a stipend. Missouri State: The Missouri State University Football Strength and Conditioning Program is currently accepting applications for UNPAID summer internships. This position will begin June 1st, 2020 and go through July 31st, 2020. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. This position is responsible for assisting the football strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of the off-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room/facility, and hands-on experience training D1 athletes participating in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Angelo State: Angelo State University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2020 Fall semester. The primary responsibilities of this position are to design and implement efficient and scientific training programs for assigned teams under the approval of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of training for all sports, program administration, working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. As a graduate assistant within ASU Athletics, you are expected to maintain professionalism, the Angelo State University graduate assistant minimum GPA of 3.0, and must be working towards a post-baccalaureate degree. Minimum Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, apply and be accepted into graduate school at ASU, possess or be working towards a nationally accredited certification (SCCC or CSCS), and MUST be CPR/AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: a nationally accredited certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW), personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and at least one (1) internship in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate setting.
