Valparaiso (FCS - IN): Valparaiso University Sports Performance Department-Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for Volunteer Internship positions for the Fall Semester. Responsibilities include assisting the Strength Staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Valparaiso Athletic Program. Additional responsibilities will be to provide; daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must be personable and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed a degree in an Exercise Science or related field. Candidate must be certified in CPR/AED or willing to complete certification upon arrival. Preferred qualifications: have a certification in either NSCA or CSCCa, or pursuing certification as well as previous experience in a strength and conditioning setting. Opportunities for part-time employment on campus may be available but are not guaranteed. Position: This is a non-paid internship position. The successful applicant(s) will receive course credit towards graduation (if applicable) and Internship Dates: From August 20, 2019 to December 13, 2019. Tulsa: The University of Tulsa Athletic Performance Staff is currently accepting applications for three (3) hard- working volunteer/interns for the 2019 fall camps and in-season periods. Qualified candidates will work directly with the athletic performance staff beginning August 1, 2019 and ending December 20, 2019. We are looking for eager and enthusiastic individuals with a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level. Responsibilities: include but are not limited to assisting the athletic performance staff with the set-up, breakdown and implementation of all training sessions; daily upkeep and maintenance of weight room equipment; assist with daily administrative tasks and any other duties assigned by the intern coordinator. Qualifications: Minimum age of eighteen (18), will have obtained or be working towards a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, as well as possess or be working toward their CSCS certification from the NSCA and/or their SCCC certification from the CSCCa. CPR/AED certification is mandatory and all qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check. Qualified candidates will receive hands-on experience working in a Division I athletic performance program, participate in continuing education sessions to build their knowledge in performance and nutrition, and have the opportunity to build and establish professional relationships for future employment recommendations. East Carolina: East Carolina University Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for unpaid/volunteer internship positions for this upcoming Fall Semester to work with Olympic Sports. This position offers the experience of working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, with the guidance under a CSCCa approved mentor. This internship will allow you to gain experience and use your talents in athletic performance. You will gain first-hand knowledge from a staff proficient in areas such as: athletic performance, sport psychology, exercise physiology, speed development, power lifting, and Olympic lifting. Qualifications: Candidates must possess or be working toward a certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. a. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Candidates must have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. Candidates must have solid work ethic and attention to detail. Candidates must be available for hours of operation with their designated teams and/or designated by the Director of S+C. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a professional or collegiate strength and conditioning professional. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Previous experience as an athlete is strongly desired. Orientation will begin 8/26 and candidates are expected to be able to attend. Review will begin immediately and last until spots are no longer available. A satisfactory criminal background check is required before hire can be completed. Central Arkansas (FCS): The University of Central Arkansas is looking to hire one (1) graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach starting in the fall semester of 2019. The GA strength and conditioning coach will assist with Football and Olympic sports as assigned. They may also be placed in charge of 1-2 teams of their own. Responsibilities will include: aid in Nutrition Center, set up, breakdown, stocking, and planning; design and implementation of training programs; meet with coaches and athletic trainers to collaborate on program design and modifications; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; and other duties as assigned. This position holds the responsibility of ensuring compliance with the NCAA regulations, and UCA policies and procedures. All applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports or health sciences discipline, such as Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or other related field. Applicants must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified, and must be certified through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength and Conditional Association (CSCS). Twelve months minimum experience in the collegiate strength and conditioning field is preferred. This position will be for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic year and will include duties to cover a 10 month period starting in August and ending in May each year. Included is a tuition waiver for graduate credit hours and a monthly stipend during the 10 months of assigned duties. Newberry (D-II - SC): Newberry College Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants for One Position. Part Time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach: A 8 Month Strength and Conditioning Assistant Intern position. Position starting August 1st, 2019. Compensation includes, a monthly stipend, Housing, and a Meal plan. Primary responsibilities include: Designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams. Upkeep of the daily maintenance of the weight room. Educational assignments assigned to develop as a strength and conditioning professional. Job Requirements: Passion for Strength and Conditioning, punctual, ability to multi-task, willingness to learn, highly energetic, basic knowledge of programing for multiple sports. A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an associated field of Study. NSCA or CSCCA Certification Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required. A Valid driver’s license and access to a personal mode of transportation.
