Buena Vista: Buena Vista University is seeking a full time Director of Athletic Performance / Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position primarily designs, implements and supervises sport specific strength and conditioning programs for all student athletes at BVU. Works collaboratively with head coaches, as well as EXSC faculty, on the coordination of personal training and/or strength and conditioning programs. A Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. The candidate must hold either a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or be Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) as well as have current CPR and First Aid Certifications. In addition, three years of experience working with student-athletes and coaches at the collegiate level is preferred. Cumberland (TN): Cumberland University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting two (2) volunteer unpaid strength and conditioning intern positions for the Fall 2018 semester. Qualifications: Completed or working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field; current CPR/AED certification; desire to pursue career as a strength and conditioning coach; strong work ethic; punctual. Preferred: Currently possess or working toward CSCS or SCCC certification; previous internship/coaching experience; ability to work with Microsoft Office programs. Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to: Assisting strength coaches with the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning/sports performance programs for Football and Olympic sports, daily weight room maintenance and upkeep, and any other duties assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach. Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field as well as fulfill school internship hours if necessary. Rhode Island: The University of Rhode Island is seeking one (1) Professional Strength and Conditioning Intern for the academic year of 2018- 19. This is an 8 month, PAID position with a $10,000 stipend distributed bi-weekly over the course of the internship. Accepted applicant will receive practical hands-on experience in strength and conditioning at the Division 1 level, as well as the opportunity to participate in the intern education curriculum. Required qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related field, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification, First Aid/CPR/AED training, the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic, the ability to commit to AT LEAST 40 hours per week including some weekends, and effective communication and teamwork skills. Responsibilities: Assist full time coaches in implementing programs for all 16 sports, set up and break down of training sessions, weight room maintenance and upkeep, intern curriculum assignments and projects, and any other tasks or projects assigned by staff as they arise.
