UNLV: The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Program is accepting applications for the 2019 fall internship program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with all aspects of training for 16 intercollegiate athletic teams, daily facility set-up and maintenance, assisting with instruction and skill demonstration during training sessions for all teams, data collection and entry using varying monitoring systems, and completion of internship curriculum over the course of the semester. Applicants must have current CPR/AED certification and be certified or working toward certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) and/or NSCA (CSCS). Previous experience at the college level is preferred. Candidates must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and demonstrate strong commitment to aligning with the philosophy and principles of the department. This is an UNPAID position. However, the candidate(s) will receive experience working in a division 1 collegiate setting, gain knowledge of training methodology and program design, and the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Interns will also receive college credit if applicable. Fontbonne: Fontbonne University Sports Performance Program is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill internship positions for the Fall of 2019 starting the week of 8/26/19 and going through 12/5/19. This is an unpaid position, but candidates will be mentored on getting NSCA CSCS Certification. While working with athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department. Expectations include: assist the strength and conditioning coach in all areas of program design and implementation; set-up and breakdown of sessions; cleaning and upkeep of facility; spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Qualifications: positive energy, strong work ethic, attention to detail, eagerness to learn and contribute, effective communication skills, Bachelor’s degree or a degree in process, hold certification(s) and/or seeking to get certified in at least one of these major certifications: SCCC, CSCS, and/or USAW. University of Missouri-St. Louis: University of Missouri-St. Louis is looking to hire a part-time assistant strength coach. Pay is $5,000 over an 8-month period. 15 hours per week. Required qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Health Sciences or related field; Current CSCCa (SCCC) or NSCA (CSCS) certification; CPR/First Aid Certification required; The candidate must also possess strong organizational and communications skills; Professional demeanor and high standard of ethics and integrity pertaining to collegiate athletics; Ability to work effectively in a diverse workplace, with a variety of teams, coaches, sports medicine and support staff; Basic technology skills, including computer-based software, and mobile device applications. Air Force Special Warfare: The United States Air Force 13 th ASOS at Fort Carson, CO is currently seeking UNPAID/volunteer Strength and Conditioning/Sport Science intern(s) for the Fall semester. The successful applicant(s) must be ready for a greater than normal internship experience and responsibilities. Along with these greater demands the successful intern will earn future recommendation and opportunities to develop leadership skills within the United States Air Force Special Warfare environment. The internship includes a 5-stage progressive program where the successful intern(s) will be further prepared for their career. Minimum requirements: Must be pursuing career in Strength and Conditioning and/or Sport Science in Tactical, NCAA, Professional, High School or Olympic levels. Motivated to COACH, this will not be observation based. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s degree in related field. CSCS as well as current CPR & First Aid prior to August 1, 2019. Preferred experience: use of Omegawave, Heart Rate Variability analysis and the use of social media to drive information to deployed Operators. Candidate must possess valid driver’s license to attain base access.
