Washington: The University of Washington Football Strength and Conditioning Program is currently seeking internship applicants for the fall/winter quarter of 2018. Interns will have the opportunity to continue their experience through the winter and the spring season dependent upon individual performance during fall camp and the in-season program. Must adhere to the rules of the NCAA, The University of Washington Intercollegiate Athletics Department, and the Pac-12 Conference. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing/possessing bachelors or masters in exercise science or a related field, First Aid CPR/AED certified, Currently pursuing/possessing NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW certification(s), and a strong desire to become a Collegiate/Professional Strength & Conditioning Coach. Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. Individuals will gain experience in a Division I collegiate speed, strength & conditioning setting, as well as future recommendation for employment. College credit will be given as approved by their institution. Applicants are strongly encouraged to secure housing in the Seattle area prior to the start date once selected. Wyoming: University of Wyoming Football Strength & Conditioning is currently seeking volunteers for an UNPAID internship to contribute to the program for Fall 2018. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to assist the full-time staff with training sessions for football in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that offers valuable knowledge and hands on experience assisting the full-time coaching staff in all aspects of the strength and conditioning program. During the internship, potential candidates will receive hands-on experience working at the Division 1 level and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Potential candidates must possess a strong work ethic and character, great energy and enthusiasm, as well as the ability to demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Potential candidates must have a great desire to learn about the strength and conditioning profession as well as pursue a career in the collegiate setting. Previous experience in a strength & conditioning program, coaching internship experience or collegiate athletics experience is preferred but not required. This internship is expected to begin July 27th, 2018 and end at the conclusion of the 2018 football season. Menlo (NAIA - CA): The Menlo College Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for 1 FALL of 2018 intern positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Sports Performance staff with the implementation of sport specific injury prevention, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, and conditioning program. Benefits include: small semester stipend, lunch, athletic apparel, CEU’s, networking & educational trips. Once training is complete you will be assigned 2-3 teams for which you will designing and implement programs under the departmental philosophy. Potential Candidates: Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s in a related field and at least one of the following certifications must be in progress: CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, demonstrate effective organization and communication skills and must have a strong willingness to learn and must be a self-starter.
