Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Sports Performance Program for the 2018 fall quarter. Qualified candidates will serve all 36 sports including Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff implement individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific, injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must have current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, September 17th 2018, and requires a 3-month time commitment with opportunities to continue pending positive evaluation. Louisiana-Lafayette: The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, a member of the NCAA Division I and the Sun Belt Conference located in Lafayette, LA, is currently accepting applications for the Olympic Sports volunteer internship program for the fall 2018 semester. The members of the internship program report directly to the Assistant AD for Athletic Performance while working collaboratively as a member of the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Performance Team. The position is responsible for assisting the Athletic Performance staff in all departmental functions. The successful candidates will be taken through an educational curriculum as well as have the opportunity to gain practical experience working with a variety of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns student-athletes. In addition, candidates will have the potential to sit for the SCCC certification exam following the completion of 640 practicum / internship hours under approved mentor, our Assistant AD for Athletic Performance. This is a volunteer position and no monetary compensation will be provided. Interested candidates must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, a sense of urgency and a willingness to work. Qualifications include completed or completing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field and acquired or working towards CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification(s). The Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for two VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) interns for Fall 2018. The internship will last from August 22 – December 7. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff. East Central: East Central University is looking for a paid intern/graduate assistant Strength and Conditioning coach for the fall of 2018. Must be Federal Work Study eligible for compensation. East Central University (Ada, OK). Located slightly over 1 hour southeast of Oklahoma City, 2 hours southwest of Tulsa, and 2 hours from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. University of Central Arkansas: The Strength & Conditioning staff at the University of Central Arkansas is now accepting applications for its 2018 Fall Semester Internship Program. This is an unpaid position that lasts for the duration of the fall semester with a start date of August 24, 2018. No monetary compensation or housing will be provided. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength & conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. This internship is also Mentor Approved for those individuals preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification issued by the CSCCa. Candidates interested in this position should be hardworking, passionate, and detail orientated individuals, who have the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field. They should be working toward certification as a SCCC through the CSCCa, or a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA. Responsibilities will include: Daily clean up and maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for all athletic workouts, and supervision of training sessions. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects and reports.
