UW-Whitewater (D-III): University of Wisconsin – Whitewater: Assistant Sports Performance Coach for 2019-20 Academic year (Aug. 15 – May 15). This is a paid assistantship which includes a $10,000 stipend. Duties: Assist S & C staff with all aspects of training for all varsity sports (not just football). Design, oversee and lead workouts for specific teams as assigned by Director. Provide leadership and instruction in the athletic development of student athletes to include skill analysis, teach proper technique and adapt workouts to match each sports specific need. Provide encouragement, motivate, and give feedback to student athletes to ensure maximum development of athletic potential. Assist with outside activities as assigned by Director. Job Requirements: BS/BA in an Exercise Science related field. Master’s Preferred. Certification from nationally recognized organization (CSCS, CSCCa, USAW etc.) Previous experience as a collegiate athlete or training athletes. Strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Excellent work ethic. Ability to adapt to schedule changes. Team Player. CPR/First Aid certified. Desired Skills: Knowledge and experience in all areas of strength training including Olympic style lifting as well as speed, agility, plyometric, flexibility and conditioning methods. Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern University (Sun Belt) Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill four to five (4-5) Fall VOLUNTEER assistant positions. Qualified candidates will work directly with the Georgia Southern Olympic Sports teams including but not limited to; baseball/soft, men’s/women’s basketball, volleyball and men’s/women’s soccer. Certified candidates (CSCS or SCCC) will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience working in a Division I FBS environment within the Sun Belt Conference. There will also be a comprehensive internship curriculum that all volunteer assistants will be required to participate in. This curriculum is designed for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning through mentorship, teaching, professional/personal development and pre-arranged networking opportunities with other college strength coaches. Required qualifications: current CPR / AED; completion of an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be working toward or have completed certification(s) from CSCCa and/or NSCA. Seeking those who will embody the Georgia Southern culture: blue collar, servant leaders.
