McNeese State: The McNeese State University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for 2-3 Summer 2019 Volunteer Interns. The internship will last from June 3-July 31. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience coaching football, as well as other assigned teams. The individual’s chosen will gain knowledge and experience coaching in a Division I program, as well as future recommendation for employment. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related field, and the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in a collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Preferred qualifications include previous coaching experience in a collegiate setting and/or former participation in a collegiate competitive sport. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution for the strength and conditioning program of assigned sports, set up and break down of daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern University (Sun Belt) Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill two to three (2-3) summer volunteer assistant positions. All positions are unpaid (no monetary compensation). To be in consideration for the position, the potential candidates must have their CPR/AED certification. The successful candidates will assist with all daily duties as it pertains to Georgia Southern Strength and Conditioning including but not limited to: data tracking, data entry, supplementation, budget management and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. There will also be a weekly internship development course curriculum. The curriculum is centered on preparing the successful candidates to excel in their next step in the field. Chosen candidates can also have the opportunity to complete internship hours required for the CSCCa - SCCC exam under the mentor ship of the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Start date (in Statesboro, GA) is flexible. The internship will be completed before the beginning of fall camp with the potential of retention through the 2019 football season. James Madison (FCS - VA): The James Madison University Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently accepting applications for 2 unpaid internship positions. The duration of these internships will be based off performance and availability. These positions will have the opportunity to be involved with the daily operating procedure of a Division 1 football program as well as other Olympic sports. You will have the opportunity to coach. We are seeking passion, curiosity, and a commitment to better yourself and our program on a daily basis. Interns will also have an educational curriculum to learn about assessments, speed training, strength training, energy system development, nutrition, regeneration, analytics and much more.
