Texas: Texas is now accepting applications for interns for the 2017 summer conditioning program. Responsibilities include assisting the Football Strength Staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Football Program. Daily weight room supervision, upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Interns will receive course credit towards graduation, 640 hours toward SCCC Certification with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as Division I strength and conditioning experience. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Previous experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program preferred. Internship Dates: May 24, 2017 to July 28, 2017. Arkansas State: The Arkansas State University Department of Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for a Volunteer Intern Strength & Conditioning Coach. This is an unpaid position that will last for the duration of the 2017 Summer Semester with an estimated start date of May 29, 2017. This internship presents the opportunity to compete for a possible Graduate Assistant position, and can be used for course credits. This internship is also Mentor Approved for those individuals preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification issued by the CSCCa. An educational curriculum will be provided as well as practical experience working with all sports at Arkansas State, primarily football. Interested applicants must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a hunger to work. Responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. Preferred qualifications include a completed Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field and a certification through the CSCCa/NSCA. Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for four VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) internship positions. The internship will last from May 25 – July 30. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division I S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff. Vermont: The University of Vermont Athletic Performance Department is now accepting applications for a fulltime Coaching Assistant position (no benefits). The selected candidate will begin June 2017. The responsibilities of the candidate include, assisting with the implementation of training programs of multiple teams, facility operations, etc. Preferred qualifications include a prior internship in the collegiate setting, a Bachelor’s Degree in an exercise related field and CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification, as well as CPR certification. The ideal candidate must be energetic, outgoing and have a great work ethic. This position will give the selected candidate quality coaching experience and is a great resume building opportunity to help the candidate get a fulltime position in the field of collegiate strength and conditioning. This position has a 1 year commitment, with another year contingent on performance during the first year. Salary is $15,000 - $20,000 with no benefits. Temple: Temple University Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Summer 2017 Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of athletic performance programs for Olympic Sports, facility maintenance and completion of Temple University’s Strength and Conditioning Internship Curriculum. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Preferred candidates will possess previous strength and conditioning coaching experience or collegiate athletics experience. Preferred candidates will be working toward completion of a Bachelors degree in a related field as well as pursuing a nationally recognized certification (CSCS, SCCC).
