Elon: Elon University Strength and Conditioning is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Summer of 2017. The internship will begin in May 2017 and run through August 2017. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Elon University’s 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties. This is an unpaid internship. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or have previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Having a background in performing and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred. Briar Cliff (NAIA - IA): Briar Cliff University is currently accepting applications for Graduate Assistant. Responsibilities would include designing and implementing strength & conditioning programs for all assigned teams and also assist the strength coach with the implementation of all other athletic teams at Briar Cliff University. Other responsibilities would include daily upkeep of the athletic weight room and any other duties assigned by the strength & conditioning coach. Candidate must have a strong work ethic and a passion to work in collegiate strength & conditioning. Working early mornings, late evenings and weekends will be expected. This position is a 10 month (August 1 st – May 31st) paid tuition, with a $5,000 yearly stipend. Mercer: Mercer University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for internship positions for the Summer 2017 Semester, May 29th – July 28th. These are unpaid positions, but we will assist interns in finding housing at a discounted rate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the Mercer University Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold or have a scheduled date for a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. FAU: Florida Atlantic Owls Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for volunteer internship positions. Report date is May 15th and will run through the end of July. These are unpaid positions. Candidates should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS and current CPR/AED certification. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate strength and conditioning. Candidates will have opportunities to work with Football and with other Olympic Sports if desired and complete weekly assignments as part of the internship curriculum. Emory and Henry: Emory and Henry is looking to add a paid intern. This 10-month position, beginning August 1, 2017, is responsible for assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in devising the strength and conditioning programs for the 20 varsity sports at Emory & Henry College. A Bachelor's degree is required. The applicant must possess a current Certified Strength and Conditioning (CSCS) certification. The applicant must be certified in CPR/AED and first aid. Previous participation and/or coaching experience preferred.
