New Mexico: University of New Mexico Football athletic performance is currently accepting applications for the SUMMER 2021 volunteer internship positions. These are positions for the SUMMER 2021 training session Deadline to apply: May 1 st , 2021. Start date: May 29 th 2021. Qualified candidates would work with all facets of a NCAA Division 1 FBS FOOTBALL athletic performance program. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. The position is responsible for assisting FOOTBALL athletic performance staff with the implementation of the program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Monmouth (NJ): Monmouth University Strength and Conditioning in West Long Branch, NJ is searching for 3-4 summer time interns to work with Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball. Majority of work will take place in the mornings, with some early afternoon lifts. Time requirement is 3-5 days per week, we are flexible on scheduling. New candidates interested in collegiate strength and conditioning are encouraged to apply. This is a 10 week internship beginning on Friday May 28th for a one day orientation and end August 9th. There is potential for continuation into the fall and spring potential. Interns will be expected to complete the intern curriculum assignments, coach, and perform other tasks designated by the staff. Penn State: The Pennsylvania State University: Seeking highly motivated candidates to fill a summer 2021 VOLUNTARY-UNPAID internship working primarily with football. This position will start in June 2021 and can run anywhere from August to December 2021, depending on performance. Individuals chosen will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I program, as well as future recommendation for employment. Responsibilities: Will include but are not limited to daily operation/maintenance of the weight room, daily operations of fueling station, record keeping, and assisting with any sport science initiatives. Qualifications: Candidates will be certified or actively pursuing certification from CSCCA and/or NSCA. CSCCA mentorship program will be available for candidates seeking to obtain the SCCC certification. Interns must be able to work a variety of times including days, nights, and weekends if necessary. Sacramento State: Sacramento State University Strength & Conditioning is currently seeking volunteer interns for the Summer 2021 internship program. This internship is UNPAID, and will allow interns the opportunity to work with both Football and Olympic sports programs. The internship program will begin Tuesday, June 1st and go through Saturday, July 31st. This position is responsible for assisting the football strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of the summer off-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training division-I collegiate athletes. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree, SCCC certification, and potentially offer increased opportunities for advancement in the field of strength & conditioning. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, great work ethic, and a strong desire to work in the field of strength & conditioning. Previous coaching experience, collegiate athletic playing experience, and familiarity with fundamental weight room exercises is ideal, but not required.
