Indianapolis (D-II):  The University of Indianapolis Strength & Conditioning program is currently accepting applications for volunteer strength and conditioning interns the summer semester of 2020. This is an unpaid position that will last for the duration of the semester with an estimated start date of May 4th, 2020. Applicants can receive academic credits if applicable. An educational curriculum will be provided as well as practical experience working with all students-athletes. Required qualifications include working towards or completion of Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, possess a strong work ethic, able to work a minimum of 40 hours a week, and a strong desire to learn and teach the Olympic weightlifting movements. Watford City HS (ND): Sanford Health has an opening for a full time Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist located in Watford City, ND. This position would be working as the head strength coach at Watford City High School and would be responsible for creating and implementing Watford's strength and conditioning program. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan Sports Performance is seeking highly motivated people to fill the Winter 2020 internship positions working with all 17 NCAA Division 1 sports teams. This internship will start May 25th, 2020 thru July 31st 2020. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the design and implementation of strength programs including set up and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and ongoing professional development through the internship curriculum. Preferred Qualifications: Intense work ethic, and highly motivated. Experience working in a Strength or Sports Performance environment; currently hold or working towards a nationally- accredited strength and conditioning certification (SCCC or CSCS) PLEASE NOTE: These are non-paid volunteer position. North Florida (D-I): The University of North Florida Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates for our Summer 2020 volunteer internship program. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all 17 Olympic Sports teams. Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Successful applicants will gain valuable experience working with Division-I athletes, knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a Division-I strength and conditioning program, and potential class credit. Interns will also be exposed to Tendo unit technology and Fusionetics movement screening. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with facility maintenance, equipment and training set up/breakdown, supervision of athlete’s training sessions, lifting demonstrations, and working on professional development assignments/projects assigned by the internship supervisor. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach, and pursuing CSCCa-SCCC and/or NSCA-CSCS certification(s). Lamar (FCS - TX): Lamar University Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Internship positions for Summer 2020. The internship will begin on May 29th. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football along with various Olympic sport teams as assigned. Our main goal is education through experience. This includes daily coaching opportunities, opportunities to lead small team sessions, continuing education, an internship curriculum, expansion of network connections, and daily weight room maintenance. While working with all Division-I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities, with a consideration for future employment recommendations. Qualifications: strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to learn, Bachelors' degree or a degree in process (can be completed for class credit), hold or pursuing a SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification. Georgia Southern: The Georgia Southern University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill a Graduate Assistant Position starting in May 2020. This position includes a tuition waiver and monthly stipend. The Graduate Assistant will be working exclusively with the football strength staff and Georgia Southern football program. All applicants must be either CSCS or SCCC certified with valid CPR/AED certification and have attained a 2.9 or higher GPA in their undergraduate course work. A minimum of one-year experience in collegiate strength & conditioning is preferred. Receiving of this position is predicated upon acceptance into Georgia Southern’s online Master’s in Kinesiology with a concentration in Coaching (https://cogs.georgiasouthern.edu/admission/master-of-science-coaching-education/).
