Louisiana Tech: LA Tech is looking to hire a graduate research assistant. This new sports performance graduate RA position is assigned to Louisiana Tech women’s basketball and will operate as a developmental sport scientist under the joint supervision of Dr. Ben Gleason and Dr. Jordan Blazo, and Co-Head Basketball Coaches Brooke and Scott Stoehr. The graduate RA must be a full-time (6 hr/qtr) student during the fall through spring quarters, work 20-hr/wk (with the option to volunteer additional time), and is a thesis-only position (no internship option permitted). The graduate RA is a one-year, 12 month appointment and can be renewed for a second year based on performance evaluation conducted by KINE mentors. The graduate RA will be immersed in daily operations and training, and complete physiological and psychological assessments with the women’s basketball team. In addition, the graduate RA will write formal abstract(s), design research poster(s), and write articles with KINE mentors. The RA position will begin September 1, 2018. Applicants must have prior basketball experience, be currently certified in first aid/CPR, CSCS preferred, and have completed the USA SafeSport course before beginning duties. Candidates must have an earned undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field. Successful candidates must be accepted unconditionally to the graduate school and maintain a GPA ≥ 3.0. Compensation for assistantship positions is $888.88/month and out-of- state tuition is waived. Louisiana Tech: LA Tech is looking to hire a graduate teaching assistant. Graduate TAs in KINE must be full-time (6 hr/qtr) students, teach 2 activity courses per quarter, must hold 10 office hr/week, and can choose between 2 academic concentrations, Administration of Sport and Physical Activity or Sports Performance. Graduate TAs are encouraged to pursue volunteer and internship opportunities in a related area (e.g., athletic training, sport administration, sport coaching, strength & conditioning). Graduate TA positions are 9-month employment positions and will begin September 1, 2018. Applicants must be currently certified in first aid/CPR. Candidates must have an earned undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field. Successful candidates must be accepted unconditionally to the graduate school and maintain a GPA ≥ 3.0. Compensation for assistantship positions is $888.88/month and out-of- state tuition is waived.
