North Carolina: The University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for the FALL 2016 Athletic Development Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Start date: August 8th End Date: December 16th . Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification; CPR certification and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns will receive experience working in a Division I environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Mercy College (D-II – NY): Mercy College Strength & Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Fall 2016 internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Individuals will also have the opportunity to work with all 10 Division II Olympic sports teams. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting the Strength & Conditioning Staff in implementation of strength training programs for various sports, set up and break down of all lifts, attending to daily maintenance/upkeep of the training facility, and professional development throughout internship program. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred Qualifications: In current pursuit of NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s), previous coaching experience and collegiate athletic experience. Compensation: This position carries the possibility of monetary compensation but provides no housing or meal plan opportunities. The Successful candidates will gain valuable experience in addition to future recommendation for employment.
