Minnesota: The University of Minnesota Strength and Conditioning Department (Men’s and Women’s Hockey) is seeking highly motivated applicants to fill SPRING 2017 (January 16 – May 12) sport science internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. This internship can be used for course credits. Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Download/analyze Catapult and Polar Team 2 data from practices/games; Conduct and analyze weekly Omegawave tests; Professional development, including various educational assignments during the internship; Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance.Responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. Interested applicants must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, sense of urgency and strong work ethic. QUALIFICATIONS: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCA or NSCA certification(s). COMPENSATION: This is an un-paid volunteer position. Interns will have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Nicholls State: Nicholls State University is seeking driven applicants with a passion for strength and conditioning for the position of Intern/Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2017 Spring Semester (January 17th – May 3rd). The position is unpaid, but applicants will gain valuable experience working with a Division I Strength and Conditioning program for Football and all Olympic Sports offered at Nicholls State University. Successful applicants may also receive academic credits if applicable. Responsibilities will be assigned based on experience by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Candidates will assist with team lifts, perform daily facility maintenance and upkeep, and complete internship/professional development assignments. Candidates must have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification and be attempting to complete or have completed a degree in exercise science or exercise science related fields. A Bachelor’s degree in exercise science and CSCS or SCCC certifications are preferred but not required. Christopher Newport University: Christopher Newport University Strength and Conditioning department is accepting applications for a comprehensive volunteer internship for the 2017 spring semester. CNU is a Division 3 institution located in Newport News, VA and is a member of the Capital Athletic Conference. Individuals must be enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking in order to excel in this program. This position will offer continued education in the form of article critiques, book assignments and professional development (presentations, resume building, working with excel, programming, etc.). Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors/Masters in Exercise Science or a related field and also have or be in the process of obtaining their CSCS or SCCC certifications. Candidates must also have a strong desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach.
