Oregon: Oregon Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for Spring 2018. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the training of the University of Oregon’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative, and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Wagner: Wagner College is looking to add Strength and Conditioning Interns for the Spring 2018 Semester. The start date is January 8th. Potential coaches should be highly motivated with a strong desire to work in a strength and conditioning Division I environment. Successful candidates should have prior weight room experience in collegiate or professional athletics. Additionally, candidates should be working towards completion of a bachelor’s/master’s degree and/or have a strong desire to gain experience in the field of sports performance enhancement. Preferred qualifications include prior classes in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise physiology as well as certification through the NSCA, CSCCa or USAW. Must be eligible to work in the United States (US citizen, valid student visa, resident alien etc.) Compensation: No monetary compensation. Class credit toward graduation with prior institution approval. Approved CSCCa mentor program. East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for 2-3 hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and are able to assist with coaching Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Spring 2018 Semester. The people chosen for this position must be able to start January 11th and the position will end April 30th. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete.
