Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): Abilene Christian University is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning interns for Spring 2020. No monetary, housing, or food compensation will be provided. The internship will last from January 10 – April 30. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (CSCCa, NSCA, USAW), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff. Connecticut:The University of Connecticut Football Strength and Conditioning staff is looking for three unpaid volunteer interns for the spring semester of 2020. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and working towards or already in possession of a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and also be CPR/AED certified. Must possess or be currently working towards certification through the CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW. The internship will include assisting in daily set up and break down of the football weight room, completion of a comprehensive educational curriculum, data collection (Catapult GPS), and any other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. This is an unpaid position and if this will not work financially, please do not apply. The start date for the internship is 1/21/20 and will run through 5/1/20.
