Houston: The University of Houston Football Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for UNPAID internships for the spring of 2018. Internship report date is Monday, January 15th, 2018. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in an Exercise Science related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill potential credit hours toward a program degree, and offer an opportunity for advancement in the field of sports performance. Preferred qualifications include certification from one or more of the following (CSCCa, CSCS, USAW), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football sports performance staff with the implementation of the fall program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Temple: The Temple University Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the 2018 spring semester. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Temple University’s football program, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties and other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is an unpaid internship. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and will be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or having previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Having a background in performing and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred.
