Georgia: The University of Georgia Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently looking for highly motivated candidates to fill internship positions for the Spring 2020 semester. These candidates will receive experience coaching in a division one university setting and will have the opportunity to work with each of the 18 Olympic sports. This internship includes a comprehensive curriculum designed to educate and prepare our interns for the demands and responsibilities required to progress through the field. Interns will also gain experience working with: Sparta Science, GymAware, Catapult, and Fusionetics. Responsibilities (Including but not limited to): - Assisting with supervision of assigned teams. - Helping with set up and breakdown of the weight room for team lifts. - Helping with maintaining a clean and organized training facility. - Assignments from the internship curriculum. Minimum Qualifications: First Aid, CPR & AED Certified; Desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach; Desire to pursue relevant certifications (SCCC, CSCS, USAW, etc.). Preferred Qualifications: Experience coaching in collegiate, professional, high school, or private facilities; Those currently obtaining relevant certifications (SCCC, CSCS, USAW, etc.); Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in exercise science or another related field. Compensation: This is an UNPAID VOLUNTEER POSITION. However, you will be able to use this opportunity to fulfill internship hours for any coursework. You will also be given the opportunity to learn and grow as a coach through our internship curriculum. Lastly, interns will complete up to 40 hours per week (640 hour total) that can be used towards obtaining the SCCC certification through the CSCCa. Louisiana Lafayette: The University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Performance is accepting applications for volunteer internship positions for SPRING 2020. Report date is January 8th and will run through May 8th. These are UNPAID positions; however, candidates will have the potential opportunity to earn a USA Weightlifting Level 1 & CPR / AED certification as well as work under a CSCCa mentor. Candidates should be working toward a degree in an Exercise Science related field. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate athletic performance and are willing to commit a minimum of 20 hours/week with early mornings, long days, and evening hours. Candidates will have opportunities to work with all Olympic Sports and the Sports Nutrition Department and participate in an internship program consisting of weekly assignments, presentations, and staff meetings.
