Jacksonville: Jacksonville University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS for the SPRING 2018 semester. The approximate start date is January 8, 2018 through April 27, 2018. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for football and all 18 varsity Olympic Sports, daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment in the weight room, assisting in teaching proper technique to student athletes, and professional development. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Interns will receive experience working for a Division I University, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and a strong desire to be in the collegiate strength and conditioning coaching field. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (CSCCA, SCCC, NSCA, CSCS, USAW) are preferred or in pursuit of certification. Candidates must be CPR certified. Santa Clara (CA): The Santa Clara University Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for four candidates to fill roles as Volunteer Interns for the Winter/Spring of 2018. The internship is UNPAID with an anticipated start date of January 4th, 2018, concluding on June 1st, 2018. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing 1-2 sports under the direction of the full-time staff, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance, cleaning of the weight room and completion of the internship curriculum. Candidates will also assist with the training of Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as other sports assigned by the Assistant AD for Sports Performance and the Director of Sports Performance. Compensation will include gear as well as learning from a CSCCa approved mentor. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate/Professional Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing CSCS, USAW, NSCA, or CSCCa certification(s). This is a non-paid volunteer position; it may fulfill course credit if necessary.
