Marshall: Marshall Olympic Strength and Conditioning is currently seeking applications for Strength and Conditioning Interns for the summer/fall of 2017.The volunteer interns will be unpaid positions starting on July 1, 2017. Preferred applicants must be highly motivated, have a tremendous work ethic, and be interested in becoming a Strength and Conditioning/Performance Coach. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of program administration. This is an UNPAID position. However the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. The position is responsible for assisting the Olympic sports strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of the summer program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Yale: The Yale Football Sports Performance Staff is looking for qualified and hardworking interns with a strong passion for football and strength and conditioning to work with the Yale Football Team in the Varsity Weight-room. These positions are unpaid, but provide valuable experience, and will begin the first week of June. Preferred candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in or related to the field of Exercise Science. A certification from the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, USAW and/or prior playing experience in college athletics is preferred but is not required. Garden City (JC - KS): Garden City Community College is currently accepting applications for Summer & Fall 2017 volunteer internship positions to work with the 2016 FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS and other sports, qualified candidates would work with the Sports Performance Department. GCCC is part of the NJCAA Jayhawk Conference with approximately 400 total athletes. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting the Director of Sports Performance and Sport Coaches with the implementation of the summer and fall program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certifications through USAW, NSCA, CSCCa. CPR/First Aid & AED, and certification are not a must. If you have the want to learn about this industry please apply. This is not an internship where the interns are only allowed to clean, sit back and watch, it will be very in-depth and hands on. Tiffin (D-II - OH): Tiffin University is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern for the summer of 2017. The Tiffin staff is looking for highly motivated, aspiring strength coaches that want to work at the collegiate level of strength and conditioning. The program is beneficial for undergraduate students and the post bachelor professional looking for experience. The program also develops the necessary skills to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 40 hours per week with the Athletic Department. Compensation: Division 2 experience with an earned recommendation for future career opportunities. Also, housing will be provided. Ideal candidates will be working towards a bachelor’s degree in the field of Exercise Science and a certification from the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW or have related and prior experience participating in college athletics; however this is not a requirement.
