Carson Newman (D-II - TN): Former Tstrength and conditioning coach Johnny Long has been hired to oversee the 19 Varsity sports at Carson Newman.

Newberry College (SC): Newberry College Strength is seeking applicants for a 10 Month (Off December and May) Strength and Conditioning Assistant intern position. Compensation is approximately $1,000 monthly stipend plus the possibility of housing. Primary responsibilities include: Assisting with daily Strength and Conditioning operations; Assisting with programming for 19 intercollegiate Division II programs (including Football). Assisting with daily team workouts, maintaining the Strength and Conditioning Facility, and consulting with the Athletic Training staff on return to play issue; other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Must have a strong work ethic and strong desire to learn and excel in their career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Start Date: As soon as possible. Job Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an associated field of Study. NCAA Compliant Strength and Conditioning Certification. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required. A Valid driver’s license and access to a personal mode of transportation. Trinity College (CT): Trinity College is accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Coaches for the Fall 2016 semester. Opportunities include: completion of volunteer hours for an academic degree program, assisting in the supervision and training of 29 Division III intercollegiate athletic programs and access to our strength and conditioning intern educational program. Preferred qualifications include: Matriculating through an exercise science or related academic program, current SCCC and/or CSCS certification, CPR certification and previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience. Minimum qualifications include: pursuing SCCC and/or CSCS certification and the desire to further one's career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. This is an unpaid position. Volunteer coaches will receive an educational experience that will prepare them for a future career in college athletics. Louisiana-Lafayette: The University of Louisiana-Lafayette Olympic Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER interns, during the fall of 2016 to PRIMARILY WORK WITH BASEBALL but have the option to work with other sports. Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a strong desire to become a Strength & Conditioning Professional. Compensation: This is an unpaid voluntary position. Candidates will gain experience training Division- 1 athletes, exposure to sports nutrition, program design, professionalism, and have the potential to earn recommendation towards future employment in the field. Successful completion of the fall internship may lead to an extension in the program into future semesters. North Texas: Southern Miss graduate assistant Josh Woods is heading to North Texas as a full-time assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Miami (FL): University of Miami (FL) Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated people to fill the Fall 2016 internship positions working Primarily with Football, but will help with some Olympic sports. This internship will Start August 27th thru December 2016. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and MUST be CPR and First Aid certified. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the design and implementation of strength programs including set up and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and ongoing professional development through the internship curriculum. Preferred Qualifications: Strong work ethic, and highly motivated. Experience working in a Strength or Sports Performance environment; currently hold or working towards a nationally- accredited strength and conditioning certification (USAW, SCCC, CSCS, etc.) PLEASE NOTE: These are non-paid volunteer position.
