Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): ACU Strength Paid Internship 2019 Abilene Christian University Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for 1 PAID Strength and Conditioning Internship position. This is a 4 month position (at will) with a start date of January 14th, 2019. Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for the assisting with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all ACU athletic teams. Additionally, this position will be required to manage social media accounts, monitor fueling station, and oversee facility cleaning/maintenance of weight room. Minimum Qualifications: *DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS To be eligible, applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree (master’s degree-preferred) in exercise science or any related field. In addition, they must have obtained the following certifications: SCCC or CSCS, and CPR/AED. They must have a strong work ethic, great energy and enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and great desire to learn about the strength and conditioning profession. Benefits: This is a 4 month position (at will) that includes: $2500 stipend ($625.00/month), an on campus apartment (University Apartments), and a $250 meal plan on campus. *must pass a background check to be considered for position. Buffalo:The University at Buffalo is accepting applications for Spring 2019 Sports Performance interns to work with MEN’S BASKETBALL. This is an UNPAID position and interns will gain practical experience working in a Division I Sports Performance setting. REQUIREMENTS: CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; strong work ethic, and a desire to become a Sports Performance professional. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: CSCS, USAW, or SCCC certifications and previous internship or coaching experience. Responsibilities will include assisting with training sessions, setup and breakdown of training sessions, completing weekly assignments, and other tasks as designated by the Sports Performance staff. Allen University (Columbia, SC): The Allen University Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking applicants for 3-5 UNPAID internship positions working with Olympic Sports, including football, within our program for the 2019 Spring semester. This position will begin January 21st, 2019 and end May 4th, 2019. Internship responsibilities will include many duties within the Allen University Strength & Conditioning Department. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekend hours. As an intern in our program, you will have the chance to join a network of coaches who are committed to building a winning culture within the program at Allen University. Our mission is helping our athletes achieve their full potential in the weight room, during play, and in the classroom. Interns in our program will gain valuable knowledge and hands on experience in areas such as program design, exercise instruction, plyometric, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility, and athlete management. Interns will sit in meetings with sport coaches and learn the administrative duties of strength and conditioning. It is our goal to equip our interns with the skills needed to achieve a graduate assistant position or full-time position when they leave this program. All interns will take part in a formal internship curriculum with weekly meetings and assignments. You will feel like a part of this program. We believe that an educated, well-trained staff will have a powerful and meaningful impact on our athletes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or obtaining a bachelor’s is required; CSCS preferred but not required. Must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, have an excellent work ethic and the ability to take initiative, be pro-active, and attention to detail.
