Wisconsin: The University of Wisconsin Football Strength and Conditioning Internship program is currently accepting applications for the Summer 2017 semester. The internship will begin May 29 th , 2017 and will end August 4 th , 2017. These internships are unpaid and non-coaching positions. Prerequisites: The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and be CPR and First Aid certified. Candidates must be considering pursuing or possess a certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. Those accepted will assist in the day to day operations of the facility, including: cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for all workouts, data collection and assist with gps catapult systems. The intern program consists of mock interviews, presentations to the staff, weekly topics and bi- weekly evaluations. Candidates must possess strong work ethic, respectable character, 100% commitment to the program and a desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning field. This is an opportunity to gain experience at the Division 1 level and to expand knowledge in this field. Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for four VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) internship positions. The internship will last from May 25 – July 30. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division I S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff. Interested candidates must submit a cover letter (one page max), resume (one page minimum), three professional references, a 3 minute (max) video explaining why you coach, why you coach the way you coach, what it feels like to be coached by you, and define success.
