Wyoming: The University of Wyoming Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for SUMMER 2017 VOLUNTEER INTERN positions (2). Application review will begin immediately. Job Description: Assist the sports performance staff in all day-to-day operations of the University of Wyoming weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for Olympic Sports, setup and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of weight rooms and the High Altitude Fueling Center. This is an ACTIVE coaching position which will require interns to work directly with student-athletes in large and small group settings. Interns must also complete all requirements assigned through the intern education program. Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Prospective interns must pass a background check to be eligible for the position. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW is preferred. Compensation: This is an UNPAID POSITION. Class credit toward graduation requirements from your current institution, weekly structured education sessions, the opportunity to learn from five experienced strength and conditioning coaches. Interns will also have the opportunity to complete a mentorship through CSCCa Master Strength Coach and approved mentor Mike Cotterman. Dates: May 2017-August 2017.
