Laney College: Laney College Department of Athletics is seeking applicants for a VOLUNTEER Intern Strength and Conditioning coach position for the Spring 2019 semester. This is an UNPAID volunteer position to work with football at Laney Community College. The main responsibilities of this position will include: involvement in the supervision of safety during training sessions, assisting with daily administrative, maintenance items, and operations for Strength & Conditioning for Football. This position will provide: valuable practical experience working with collegiate football student-athletes and coaches, and multiple opportunities to expand network connections within the profession. Laney College football is the 2018 a California Community College State Champions. Laney College is located in Oakland, CA near downtown and Lake Merritt. UCF: The University of Central Florida Sports Performance department is now accepting applications for the open positions for the summer 2019 internship program starting June 7th to August 2nd with the opportunity to continue into the fall semester if desired. THIS INTERNSHIP IS FOR OLYMPIC SPORTS ONLY. Selected individuals should expect to gain experience working with all Olympic sports at the University of Central Florida. Applicants should be highly motivated, eager to learn, and possess the desire to be involved with high-level collegiate athletics. Applicants should be working toward a degree in Exercise Science, or hold an undergraduate degree in the respective field and be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Accepted interns should expect early mornings, long days, and evening hours. The internship curriculum includes the opportunity to learn directly from the sports performance staff through team training sessions, as well as involvement in weekly staff meetings and intern education workshops designed to prepare interns for real life situations and to sit for the CSCS exam and/or the SCCC exam. You will be assigned to complete various different assignments. This is strictly a VOLUNTEER internship. There will be no monetary compensation for this position; however, selected individuals should expect to receive valuable experience with various Division 1 athletic programs. William Penn (NAIA - OK): William Penn University (NAIA - Oskaloosa, IA) is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance coach. This is a 12 month position starting March 1st with a two year commitment. FULL TUITION AND A MONTHLY STIPEND ARE INCLUDED. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn University’s collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. This will include programming and coaching opportunities at BOTH the collegiate and high school levels. The position will also assist the Director of Athletic Performance, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Performance. Proven knowledge and experience with performance specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary. Newberry (SC): Newberry College Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants for one part-time strength and conditioning coach. This is an 8-month Strength and Conditioning Assistant Intern position. Compensation includes, a monthly stipend, Housing, and a Meal plan. Primary responsibilities include: Designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams. Upkeep of the daily maintenance of the weight room. Educational assignments assigned to develop as a strength and conditioning professional. Job Requirements: Passion for Strength and Conditioning, punctual, ability to multi-task, willingness to learn, highly energetic, basic knowledge of programing for multiple sports. A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an associated field of Study. NSCA or CSCCA Certification, Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required.
