Mississippi State: Mississippi State University Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Summer 2020 internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength and conditioning training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, use of technology/data analysis and professional development throughout the internship program. All interns will also have the ability to fulfill the 640 practicum hours that are required for the SCCC exam if desired. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing NSCA-CSCS and/or CSCCa-SCCC certification(s). Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. You will gain experience as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Mercer: Mercer University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for 2 Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning positions that willstart May 2020. The Graduate Assistants will report directly to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and will be responsible for up to 3-4 Olympic sports as their respective strength and conditioning coach. Added responsibilities include: primarily assisting with the Football, Basketball and Baseball training programs, assisting with nutrition operation, facility maintenance, as well as assisting the overall day to day operational duties. This position requires the Graduate Assistant to maintain a 3.0 GPA while pursuing a Master’s Degree. Compensation includes a meal stipend per semester, free housing, a 100% tuition waiver, and a stipend. The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or related field), and must also be admitted into a graduate program at Mercer University. Other qualifications include a strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to work, hold certification(s) and/or seeking to get certified in at least one of the major certifications below. Preferences (but not limited to): CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, CSCS, SCCC, USAW.
