Southeastern Oklahoma State: Southeastern Oklahoma State University Sports Performance is accepting internship applicants for the 2020 Fall semester. This internship is designated for individuals with the desire to become collegiate or professional Sports Performance/Strength and Conditioning Coaches. This internship is unpaid but will give you the opportunity to work with all 13 Sports Teams here at Southeastern. While it is not guaranteed, there may be outside opportunities to make income. Interns will have the opportunity to have hands on coaching and will be given opportunities to run and lead groups. Duties include: General support of the daily operations of the program which are not limited to set up and tear down of the weight room, restocking fueling station, cleaning and maintaining of the weight room. Select interns my travel to away games. All interns will be required to participate in the internship curriculum. Southeastern Oklahoma State University just completed construction on a brand new 10,000 sq. ft. Sports Performance facility outfitted with some of the finest equipment and some of the best technology in Division-2. We are committed to giving our athletes the very best programs available. Garden City: Garden City Community College is currently seeking qualified Volunteer Assistant Coach/ Intern candidates for the 2020 Fall Term. The strength and conditioning program will run from August 14th to November 24 th . This is an UNPAID position. It is acceptable to have a part-time job to assist with personal finances. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the Strength and Conditioning Program for the Football program. Assisting with supervision and execution of the Strength and Conditioning Program for Olympic Sports programs. Volunteers/ Interns will be on the floor coaching daily. Game day operations and duties. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. Testing, data input, and maintenance of data. Professional development throughout the semester. Other tasks assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Volunteers/ Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in coaching tactics, program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. The internship program’s goal is to provide the tools necessary for advancement in a career in strength and conditioning. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm and effective communication skills, desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field, attainment of CPR, First Aid & AED certification, pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: CSCS, SCCC, USAW, FMS, etc., previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting, competitive collegiate athletic involvement. It is strongly advised that all potential candidates make sure that this internship is economically feasible before applying. Individuals chosen for the position are subject to background checks.
