Washburn (D-II - KS): Washburn University is currently seeking applicants for a PAID strength and conditioning internship position. The strength and conditioning intern is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the coordination of the Strength and Conditioning Programs for Ichabod Athletics. The strength and conditioning intern is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Washburn University, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Conference (MIAA), and the NCAA. The internship position will begin August 2021. Essential functions include assisting in the development of maintaining strength and conditioning programs in coordination with the Director of Olympic Sports Performance for several sports. The intern will also assist in the development of strength and conditioning programs in coordination with the athletic training staff and doctors for rehabilitation of student-athletes. The intern will maintain up-to-date records on the strength and conditioning programs of each team and specific individual training plans of every student-athlete as well as all other duties assigned. Position Qualifications: High level of personal integrity, outstanding work ethic, knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations, demonstrated ability to inspire student-athletes to develop to their fullest potential, outstanding skills in oral and written communication, excellent organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks occurring at the same time. ULM: The University of Louisiana Monroe is currently accepting applications for multiple Summer 2021 Volunteer Internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as various Olympic sports. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance, and upkeep of the weight room and the nutrition area. You will receive hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Participation in Collegiate Athletics is preferred but not required. Other desired qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Kentucky: The University of Kentucky Football Performance department is accepting applications for UNPAID/VOLUNTEER Strength and Conditioning interns (2) for the Summer 2021 (June 2nd, 2021 start date). Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength and speed training programs specific to power/speed athletes, proper movement preparation, execution of proper motivational techniques, and most importantly developing an understanding of the health, safety, and wellness of collegiate athletes. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, possess excellent communication skills, and have an extremely strong work ethic. Kansas: University of Kansas Football Sports Performance is currently seeking volunteers for an UNPAID internship to contribute to the program for the SUMMER of 2021. Pitt: The University of Pittsburgh Olympic Strength and Conditioning Staff is looking to fill 3-4 VOLUNTEER (unpaid) internship positions for the Summer 2021 semester. Start and end dates will be May 4th-August 21st. We are looking for eager and enthusiastic individuals with a strong desire to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning professional. You will gain invaluable experience at an ACC, Power-5 program, working with elite level athletes in a variety of sports. Qualified applicants will have obtained or be working towards a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, as well as possess or be working towards their CSCS or CSCCa certification. CPR/AED certification is mandatory and all qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check. Upon completion of the Pitt Strength and Conditioning Intern Education Program you will be qualified to confidently sit for the CSCS and/or CSCCa certification exam. Charleston Southern: CHARLESTON SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY: Charleston Southern University is seeking a hardworking candidate for the position of a PAID INTERNSHIP. UVA-Wise (D-II): The University of Virginia Wise Football Strength & Conditioning Program is accepting internship applications for the Fall 2021 semester, with a preferred starting date on or before July 15th, 2021, and a preferred end date of December 31st, 2021. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. However, on campus housing and some meals will be offered. The volunteer internship will involve active experience in an NCAA Division II Football Athletic Performance program. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES of the VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP will include but are not limited to assisting in the implementation of the Strength and Conditioning programs; set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities as well as the updating of player profile packets. This will ideally be a great internship opportunity that will allow you to get immediate hands on experience working specifically with football S&C. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Interns are expected to be punctual, enthusiastic, reliable, productive and consistent along with having the financial capability to hold the position for the duration of the internship. Ideal candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework earning and undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study.
