Houston Baptist: HBU’s Athletic Performance Staff is seeking interns for the Summer 2019. We are looking for interns who are highly motivated and passionate about training athletes in regards to physical preparation, injury reduction, and most of all character development. The interns will be mentored in motivation strategies, on the job communication skills, periodization and programming, movement coaching, and professional development. The dates for this internship are June 3rd - August 9th. Applicants must be seeking to become a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach or already be certified through the NSCA or CSCCA. Although there is no money to be earned, what the interns will gain is valuable experience and earn a chance to receive a recommendation for future employment in the field. This internship will not just be a protein shake stocking and bench wiping experience, there are plenty of opportunities for coaching and working with multiple sport teams on both the Olympic sports and Football. However, the main focus for this internship will be helping train the HBU Football Team. North Dakota State: North Dakota State University’s Strength and Conditioning department is seeking applicants for a Football Strength and Conditioning unpaid Internship for the summer semester of 2019. This position will begin in May and end in August. The intent of the internship is to provide a semesters worth of hands-on coaching experience working with our strength and conditioning staff and eventually with our student-athletes. This will allow the individual to gain knowledge of our program thus making them a viable candidate for future GA positions. Duties will include assisting the Director of Football Strength & Conditioning with all aspects of the football strength and conditioning program as well as daily maintenance of the nutrition area, weight room and other responsibilities as assigned. Applicants must be prepared to work long hours. These hours will vary throughout the internship and will include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Requirements: Applicants must possess a relentless work-ethic and have a strong desire to work with football in an intense environment. They must understand the importance nutrition plays in the development of student-athlete and be willing to assist in that role. Again, this is a hands-on internship where you will be expected to coach student-athletes once you have taken the time and interest in learning the system. Candidates that are open-minded, inquisitive and have the ability to listen and learn through an example-based, learning environment are encouraged to apply. Florida International: Florida International University is accepting applications for the position of Intern Strength and Conditioning Coach for Summer 2019. Successful candidates will be working with Football and a variety of Olympic sports. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities along with our intern development program. Buffalo: The University at Buffalo (MAC) Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking for up to 6 volunteer interns for the Summer 2019. All positions will be UNPAID. The successful candidates will assist with all daily duties as it pertains to Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning including but not limited to: assisting with coaching, data tracking, data entry, fueling station management and any other duties assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. The expected start date will be May 30 th , and go until the end of the Summer (tentatively the last week of July). Kent State: The Strength & Conditioning staff at the Kent State University is now accepting applications for its 2019 Summer Semester Internship Program. This is an unpaid position that lasts for the duration of the summer semester with a start date of June 1, 2019. No monetary compensation or housing will be provided. This internship is mentor approved for those individuals preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification issued by the CSCCa and can be used to fulfill class requirements for college credit. Candidates interested in this position should be hardworking, passionate, and detail orientated individuals who have the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Responsibilities will include daily clean up and maintenance of the facility and all equipment, setup and break down of weight room and field for all athletic workouts, and supervision of training sessions.
